Northwest Branch featured problem: The Business

Showed a couple people around Northwest Branch on Saturday, and met a few more along the way.  Though we stopped at several areas to climb, probably the favorite stop of the day was The Business in the Roof Area.  A good contrast to most of NWB's problems, characterized by technical moves on sharp crimps, The Business is a powerful overhung climb up perfect slopers.  Rated V6, it often feels much harder compared to other similarly rated problems in the area.  Partially this is due to the large amounts of core strength needed, especially for the initial foot sequence.  If slopers, compression, and power are your thing, you won't want to miss this one!

Northwest Branch- Roof Area

The Roof Area at Northwest Branch is located almost directly across the river from the main parking lot (see map).  It has several good lines on the three main boulders, though landings can be a bit dangerous so pads and spotters are highly recommended.
