Who knew they had stuff like that just a few hundred feet off the road? Even knowing that I was in the same general region as Devil's Lake, I was pretty amazed. Must make it a point to get back there sometime.
Three other observations:
1) Western Minnesota doesn't have nearly as many trees as I had expected.
2) The eastern half of North Dakota seems to stretch on forever.
3) Everything west of Bismark is gorgeous.
And now off to Montana!
